Geoff died on 4th May 09 aged 64 years. Geoff started work as a groom with Mrs Burdon, Hawkslaw in the late 50s, moving on to Brieryhill where he worked as a groom with Bill Hardie. At that time Les Moss was Huntsman, Donald Corbett 1st Whip and Seth Routlege Kennelman. Geoff then went on to be 2nd Whip and by then Eric Gundal was Huntsman. The Kennels were a very busy place with lots of hard work, long hours and low wages but they were very happy days. Geoff left hunt service in the mid-60s but never lost the enthusiasm for hunting, right up to the last months of his life he was out watching the Berwickshire.
